CONDOLENCES: We regret to announce the passing of Susanne Schiller A'H, mother of our member Gabriella Diamond and Andy Schiller. Shiva will be observed until Sunday morning at the Diamond home, 731 Dickens Avenue, Franklin Square, NY 11010 during the following hours: Motzei Shabbat until 10pm. May the family be comforted among the mourners of Tzion and Jerusalem.

Hachnasat Sefer Torah: We are very excited to invite everyone to participate in the Hachnasat Sefer Torah as we complete and welcome a new Torah being written by Florence & Leo Schechter in honor of their 60th wedding anniversary. Please join us on Sunday morning March 26 at 11:00 am in the Beit Medrash as we write the final letters. At 12:00 Noon we will dance the new Torah into the main sanctuary with a Chuppah, music and dancing. Light refreshments will be served.

NORPAC: This year's NORPAC Mission to Washington is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Each year, shul members join hundreds from the New York metropolitan area to meet with Congressman, Senators, and their aides to lobby on behalf of Israel. You can register online; the registration fee will increase after March 13. Busing between West Hempstead and Washington is provided at no additional cost. SHABBAT MORNING YOUTH GROUPS: Groups will start a 10am and will run until Shul is over. As usual, all kids who show up will receive tickets towards the prize redemption raffle at the end of the year! Anyone who brings in a joke about either this week’s Parsha or about Purim will receive FIVE extra tickets!

EREV PESACH EVENT: This year’s annual Erev Pesach Event will take place on Friday, April 7 for kids aged 2 and older! Please note: Due to the extremely high demand for our Erev Chag trips that we have experienced in the past, there will be a short period where ECDP members will be given priority registration before we accept reservations from the general public. TZEDAKA FUND: A Charity Account has been created to provide for those who come to collect and other tzedakah needs. This fund will be overseen by Rabbi Greer and checks should be made out to Eitz Chayim Charity Account and can be given to Rabbi Greer or Josh Kupchik.

SHUL REMINDERS: Please do not bring any Strollers into the Shul. Strollers must remain outside all buildings. Please do not bring food into the new sanctuary. Please remember to make sure the doors are locked when you are the last or next to last person to leave the Shul. Thank you for your cooperation.

MEMO FROM THE WELCOMING COMMITTEE The Welcoming Committee welcomes new families to West Hempstead. Additionally, they arrange a Friday night dinner to be delivered to new families for their first Shabbat. We are looking for more volunteers that would be interested in offering to bring Shabbat food for a new family when they move in. The West Hempstead Food Bank is now making available cards which can be given to your Shabbat hosts and/or used for any other occasion. All proceeds from the sales of the cards, which indicate that a donation has been made to the Food Bank, will be used to purchase food. IDENTIFICATION FOR CHILDREN: Parents should consider getting some form of ID for their children to carry with them at all times. Below is a link to one such website. Carrying ID is so important and quite inexpensive - starting at about $20. It is good to have on for Shabbat, biking, walking, running etc. when kids (or even adults) don't carry ID.
