THE MARK KALMANOWITZ FRIDAY NIGHT LEARNING PROGRAM The learning will continue through the winter months until we return the clock to daylight savings time on March 11, 2018, after Parshat Parah/Vayakhel-Pekudei. Every Friday night following Maariv a ten-minute dvar torah on the week's parsha is presented by a different person. This week's dvar torah will be delivered by Rabbi Art Vernon.

BEATY MENCHEL’S WEEKLY SHIUR FOR WOMEN: Beaty Menchel's weekly Chumash Shiur will take place Tuesday, December 12 at 8:00 pm at ECDP. All women are invited to attend.

Memo From the Building Committee: Given our vibrant and growing ECDP community, the Building Committee has spent the past year assessing our Shul's needs and planning for the future. It is with great excitement that we share "a sneak peek" of the architectural renderings for a new renovation and expansion project which will provide much needed space and opportunities for growth. More information on this project will follow after Yom Tov. In the meantime, the renderings will be displayed on the monitors outside in the Lobby of the Main Sanctuary and in the coatroom of the Sprague Street entrance. We encourage all of you to take a look at the proposed design and you will have opportunities to provide input and feedback. PARENT/CHILD LEARNING: Parent/Child Learning is here! The best program in town is back, and better than ever! Join us this week at 6:20 pm in the Beit Midrash. All are welcome! Join us for a fun filled evening of learning, pizza, divrei torah, snacks, prizes and raffles, and MORE! PCL is by far our most popular and most widely attended event at Shul, with well over one hundred people participating on a regular basis! PCL provides a quality parent/child bonding experience in a positive Jewish environment, not to mention over 200 prizes and 1,400 slices of pizza! Running such a high-caliber program costs us thousands of dollars per year to run, and we rely very heavily on donations and sponsorships in order to keep the program running. KIDS KIDDUSH: On Shabbat, December 23rd, Parshat Vayechi, we will be having our monthly "Youth Birthday Kiddush" at Shabbat Youth Groups, celebrating all children at groups who have their birthdays in November! All kids are invited! We always have lots of yummy treats, and always something extra-special (such as ice cream, ices, etc.). SECURITY: The Shul has arranged for armed security on Shabbat morning. The guards are all either off-duty or retired law enforcement. Please do not distract them as they are here to focus on our safety.

MANC Early Winter hours: Effective Sunday night, November 5, 2017, the Mikvah weekend hours are: Saturday night: 6 pm – 10:30 pm, Sunday: 5:30 pm – 10:30 pm **, Motzei Shabbat & Sunday:  a community member is on duty until 7:30 pm. At 7:30 pm our regular attendant will come on duty. **Check the MANC message for any changes in the time. Effective Monday, November 6, 2017 the Mikvah will open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at 5:30 pm – 10:30 pm. Please check the machine for new time as the zman changes. SHUL REMINDERS: Please do not bring any Strollers into the Shul. Strollers must remain outside all buildings. Please do not bring food into the new sanctuary. Please remember to make sure the lights are off and the doors are locked when you are the last or next to last person to leave the Shul. Thank you for your cooperation.

MEMO FROM THE WELCOMING COMMITTEE: The Welcoming Committee welcomes new families to West Hempstead. Additionally, they arrange a Friday night dinner to be delivered to new families for their first Shabbat. We are looking for more volunteers that would be interested in offering to bring Shabbat food for a new family when they move in.
