THE MARK KALMANOWITZ FRIDAY NIGHT LEARNING PROGRAM The learning will continue through the winter months until we return the clock to daylight savings time on Purim, after parshat Tetzaveh/Zachor. Every Friday night following maariv in the Beit Medrash, a ten-minute dvar torah on the week's parsha is presented by a different person. This week's dvar torah will be delivered by Dr. Israel Eckman.

HASHKAMA MINYAN KIDDUSH: There will be a Hashkama Minyan Kiddush this week.

BEATY MENCHEL’S WEEKLY SHIUR FOR WOMEN: Beaty Menchel's weekly Chumash Shiur will take place this Tuesday night, December 6 at 8 pm at ECDP.

WEEKLY LEARNING PROGRAM: Our learning program will continue this Wednesday evening, December 7, at 8:30 pm. We will learn in pairs, b'chevrusah - or in small groups - a scintillating section of Gemara, followed by a short talk about the laws we can glean from the text.  This format should allow for a lively conversation in which we can all benefit, applying our different approaches to Torat Hashem. Looking forward to seeing you there.

YOMIM NORAIM / ATA HAREISA APPEALS: We are still collecting pledges from the Yomim Noraim & Ata Hareisa appeals. We have received pledges from 50% of the Shul. SHABBAT MORNING YOUTH GROUPS: Groups will start at 10 am and will run until Shul is over. All groups will take place in their usual locations in Shul. The first 5 kids (don't share your answers with anyone!) to tell Rafi the answer to the following question at groups will get FIVE extra raffle tickets! The question is: What was the name of Essay's wife, and who was her father?

SHUL REMINDERS: Please do not bring any Strollers into the Shul. Strollers must remain outside all buildings. Please do not bring food into the new sanctuary. MEMO FROM THE WELCOMING COMMITTEE The Welcoming Committee welcomes new families to West Hempstead. Additionally, they arrange a Friday night dinner to be delivered to new families for their first Shabbat. We are looking for more volunteers that would be interested in offering to bring Shabbat food for a new family when they move in. If you would be interested in being asked to cook one or two dishes every 3-6 months (depending on how frequently people move in) please email Jessica Leifer (Jleifer1@gmail.com) or Leah Fish (lshanfel@yahoo.com) and we would be happy to add you to our pool of volunteers. MANC WINTER HOURS: The Mikvah weekend hours are: Saturday night: 6 p.m. – 10:30 pm, Sunday: 5:30 pm – 10:30 pm. Motzei Shabbat & Sunday: a community member is on duty till 7:30 p.m. At 7:30 pm our regular attendant will come on duty. Check the MANC message for any changes in the time. The Mikvah will open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at 5:30 pm. Please check the machine for new time as the zman changes. Please take advantage of these new extended hours. The West Hempstead Food Bank is now making available cards which can be given to your Shabbat hosts and/or used for any other occasion. All proceeds from the sales of the cards, which indicate that a donation has been made to the Food Bank, will be used to purchase food.
